THE BASICS

Rayna York grew up with hippie parents who liked to adventure. Where change was the norm, books were her constant—a way to escape. As an adult, many careers came and went, but writing has always been her passion. Her contemporary, coming-of-age love stories are often inspired by dreams, which she captures in her notebook with barely an eye open. When she’s not hidden away in her writing shack, Rayna enjoys playing pickleball, losing herself in a good book, or watching a movie.

Author Note

I’ve always been an avid reader and can easily get lost for hours. So when I was going through a rough patch in 2008, I decided, crazily enough, to write a novel. An escape I could control and manipulate seemed like a pretty good idea to me. All said and done, I wrote an eighty’s throwback fiction, based on my life when I was sixteen, intertwined with my crazy upbringing. The New Girl took me six years, because life intervened as it usually does, but I finally finished it. So where is it, you ask? Well, it’s happily saved on my computer and may never see the light of day, but that’s okay. I’ve written three standalone novels. Everything I Knew to be True When Life Gives You Lemons Instead of Lattes, and The Right Kind of Unexpected.
